Walter Nones: via inedita al Cho Oyu PDF Tisk
Walter Nones is planning a very challenging Autumn programme, a "inedito" trail to the Cho Oyu.
Here are some comments for us from the famous Italian alpinist:

The mountain is part of my life, where I was born, I live with my family, I work. But most importantly it is the source of my dreams, my aspirations, the challenges with myself, sometimes won, sometimes lost, but that always make me feel alive and ready to begin again.
The goal of my next adventure is once again an Himalayan peak, and so after visiting Pakistan in 2004 with the ascent of K2 and Nanga Parbat in 2008, I decided to return to Cho Oyu in the Himalayas. This mountain is located on the border between Nepal and Tibet and the line that I want to follow is not the normal way.
My desire is to try to climb along a beautiful still unclimbed wall on the SouthEast. I'd like to share this project with two friends of mine, in order to prepare pictures and videos, trying to explain why we chose unconventional routes instead of the the most famous ways.
The expedition will start from Italy in early September 2010 and will last about two months: the right time to reach the base camp along the trails, and to allow our bodies to acclimatise to high altitude.

I wish to thank all supporters of this project and people like me who love and respect mountains. Especially I want to thank GABEL as without your help it would not be possible for me to realize this project.

Pellizzari on the Manaslu PDF Tisk
Due to logistic problems of Nepali trek company that was charged to organize my expedition to Cho Oyu, I have decided to attempt the Manaslu peak, 8,163 mt. in Nepal.

The expedition has now come to its end.
